Bypass kit will not program. (PATS Chrysler)
Symptom
The vehicle is unable to recognize the bypass kit once the 2nd key is removed from the ignition barrel. The vehicle will go into programming mode but when the bypass kit is placed close to the ignition barrel it is not recognized.
Cause
The vehicle's anti-theft system is not sensitive enough to pickup the transponder's signature from the PATS bypass kit. This is not a flaw in the engineering or manufacturing of the bypass kit itself, but rather a result of very small field strength of the vehicles transponder receiver on the key tumbler.
Solution
On the bypass kit under the white sticker remove the philips screw and remove the top cover so you are able to get the bypass kit's internal built-in transponer much closer to the ignition barrel. When the programming procedure requires the installer to hold the bypass kit near the tumbler press the kit against the tumbler so the bottom faces outward and the transponder inward.
