Bypass kits door-trigger does not function while the vehicle is running (GM).

Symptom

The bypass kits' door trigger output (Green) provides the proper ground pulse when the door(s) is opened while the vehicle is not running, however the output does not function when vehicle is running with either the key or the remote-starter.

Cause

The vehicles' single-wire dome-light output is disabled by the BCM when the ignition is on.

Solution

The installer will need to connect an independent door trigger to each door in order to get a full-time domelight output to use with the bypass kit, starter or alarm. If the vehicle is not equipped with power windows the door triggers can be found at the BCM. If the vehicle does have power windows the door triggers will need to be taken from the inside of each door.
