OEM alarm triggering during remote start.

Symptom

The factory alarm is being triggered when the vehicle is being remote started.

Cause

On some remote-starters the parklight output is sent before the (-) disarm, or the (-) while running. On some newer GM vehicles the OEM alarm will trigger if the parklights are activated through data.

Solution

If the OEM alarms is being triggered (while armed) during remote-start, the parklight wire from the remote-starter should be hooked up to the vehicle directly, instead of using the GM SL to activate the parklights through data.
