UltraStart will not crank during remote-start with EVO-CHR.
Symptom
The UltraStart will send a very brief crank signal but immediately shuts down. When the UltraStart is used with the EVO-CHR the crank signal duration is not long enough to effectively start the vehicle, so the vehicle will not appear to be getting a crank signal at all.
Cause
The UltraStart remote-car-starter needs a solid ground on the foot-brake input in order to remote-start. The output from the EVO-CHR has a transistor on its output and does not provide a solid enough ground. If the UltraStart does not see a perfect ground at the foot-brake input during remote-start, it will shut-down almost immediately after sending the crank signal.
Solution
A relay will need to be installed in series between the foot-brake output of the EVO-CHR and the foot-brake input of the UltraStart in order to stiffen the necessary ground.
This relay should be wired as follows:
Pin 85: To the (+) foot-brake output (Orange) of the EVO-CHR.
Pin 86: Chassis ground.
Pin 87a: Chassis ground.
Pin 87: Constant power +12VDC.
Pin 30: To the (+) foot-brake input of the UltraStart.
