Security light comes on with EVO-CHR and THAR-CHR2.

This only applies to the EVO-CHR when using the THAR-CHR2 T-harness on non TIP-Start vehicles.

Symptom

The security light will come on when the vehicle is remote-started and will remain on after a key-takeover and the remote-starter is shut-down. The security light with either flash or come on solid (depending on the vehicle).

Cause

The EVO-CHR's White/Black wire only needs to be connected the vehicles MUX if the 5-pin ignition harness has a (+) Starter wire.

Solution

Choose from one of the following:

1. There is a (+) Starter wire at the Vehicles 5-pin Ignition Plug:

  • A (+) Starter wire is only present on all 2004-2006 and some 2007 Chrysler vehicles.
  • The EVO-CHR MUX (White/Black) needs to be connected to the vehicle at the 5-pin ignition harness.
  • The EVO-CHR (+) Starter Input (Lt. Blue/Black) needs to be connected to the remote-starter.
  • During programming step 7c turn the key to the CRANK position until the LED of the EVO-CHR begins to flash 2x as fast.

2. There is NO (+) Starter wire at the Vehicles 5-pin Ignition Plug:

  • A (+) Starter wire is not present on some 2007 and all 2008-2010 Chrysler vehicles.
  • The EVO-CHR MUX (White/Black) should not be connected to the vehicle.
  • The EVO-CHR (+) Starter Input (Lt. Blue/Black) only needs to be connected to the remote-starter if the 1-way or 2-way data-link port is not used. If the data-link port is used this wire does not have to be connected.
  • Programming step 7c should be ignored. Simply proceed to step 8 and turn the key to the OFF position.

Verify all the connections listed above or the module will not program properly. If any connection needs to be changed the module will have to be reprogrammed after making the change.
