Symptom
When the vehicles PK3 (Passkey III) passive anti-theft system light remains lit on the vehicles cluster indefinately after the remote starter starts the vehicle.
Cause
The passkey III module is not located at the key cylinder. The bypass kit is probably installed utilizing the incorrect security wires.
Solution
Consult the following instructions (depending on the vehicle) which differs from the instructions provided in the GMDAA and GMDAAF installation manual.
Cadillac Only: Locate the PK3 anti-theft system module under the driver side dash to the right of the gas pedal. This module has 2 white wires, one of which is an accessory input to the PK3 system. Verify the accessory voltage with a multimeter to locate the correct wire. Cut this wire and connect the PK3 module side (the box located near the gas pedal) to the ignition output (pink/black), and key side to the ignition input (pink) of the bypass kit.
Aurora Only: Locate the PK3 anti-theft system module behind the DIC (Drivers Information Center). To do this you will need to remove the radio bezel and DIC. This module has 2 white wires, one of which is an accessory input to the PK3 system. Verify the accessory voltage with a multimeter to locate the correct wire. Cut this wire and connect the PK3 module side (the box located behind the DIC) to the ignition output (pink/black), and key side to the ignition input (pink) of the bypass kit.
