For product related problems
Including all relevant information is critical to getting a speedy resolution. Please include as much relevant information as possible; such as:
- Make, model and year of the vehicle (Gas or diesel motor, automatic or manual transmission, type of key used).
- Bypass or Interface module information (Part number and service number or hardware version and firmware version).
- Installation guide used (Title, revision and configuration used).
- Remote Starter information (Brand and model number).
- Information regarding the problem and what steps have already been taken to troubleshoot the problem:
- Vehicle:
- What does the vehicle do unexpectedly during remote-start or during key take-over? (No ignition, only ignition and no crank, crank and doesn’t start or crank and starts but then shuts down).
- If the problem is a recurring one, is there a particular situation in which the problem always occurs or is the problem random?
- Does the vehicle have any problems functioning normally with the key?
- Bypass or Interface module:
- How does the LED on the module react when the problem occurs?
- Does the module function correctly with other features? (Locks, OEM alarm control).
- How many times did the LED flash during the final programming step(s)?
- Remote Starter:
- Was the remote starter tested separately from the bypass?
- How are the remote starter and the module connected? (Wire-to-Wire or Datalink).
- After starting the vehicle with the key normally, does an idle-mode take-over function correctly?
- Does the remote starter indicate an error code by flashing the parking lights a certain number of times?
- Does the problem still occur when the remote-starter signals and timing are simulated with jumper wires?
